Global Warming & other Issues

I received this link in my twitter feed & read the article. I just wanted to repost it here for more visibility & for my own reference. Jim Powell wrote this article on why climate deniers have no scientific credibility. I have to say that I agree & would like to add that I hope we all contribute in our own ways to reducing our carbon footprint. Not just for us or future generations, but also for the other living beings on this planet (i.e. animals, insects, plants). The David Suzuki Foundation has a point. We all have the right to a healthy environment & that should be made a legal right as well.

I have to applaud organizations like Greenpeace Canada. I know there are some that don’t agree with their tactics & say they are too extreme. But I have to say that as long as no one’s getting hurt sometimes it takes drastic measures to get people to wake up. I’m glad they’re shining the light on fashion. Clothing retailers like Zara are still creating toxic clothing that’s more readily available & affordable than eco-friendly clothing. What’s the point of having gorgeous cheap clothing if you’re wrecking the world around you to get it?

  1. Thank you for the link to the FM website! The graphic you show, one of many similar ones we show, is from some unknown source.

One quick question: are there really people who “deny” climate change? Or, more specifically, deny that the world has been warming for the past two centuries? Can you cite anybody?

The major skeptic websites are, to the best of my knowledge, quite explicit that the climate has always been changing — and that the world has been warming since the early 19th century.

  2. Hi Fabius, yes Powell lists the articles he found rejecting climate change here.
