After using Dr. Mist for some years, I suddenly started reacting to it. My skin started to get really itchy when I used it. No idea why. So I suddenly had to look for a new deodorant. I did my research first. There were some good reviews of Aubrey’s E Plus High C deodorant. But it didn’t even work for me for one day. After using it freshly showered, within hours I had to reapply. And reapply, and reapply throughout the day.
The next to try deodorant on my list was Weleda’s Wild Rose Deodorant (also available in Sage & Citrus scents). Now, let me be up front. I’m usually not a fan of rose scented things. I find the scent too cloying. Anyway, I bought this deodorant from my local natural food store: Ambrosia Natural Foods but it’s also available on Saffron Rouge. I started using it during the hot & humid days this summer. I’m happy to report that this worked like a dream for me. It lasts all day long without any need to reapply. The rose scent fades to practically nothing so that made my nose happy. See the ingredients list on the Saffron Rouge site. When I ran out of the rose, I decided to try the sage scent. While I like the smell of the sage better, the rose seems to be less trying. Perhaps because sage is naturally more astringent. I might try the citrus scent next when I run out the sage.
Weleda’s Deodorants are almost as good as Dr. Mist. The only thing is can complain about is that Weleda doesn’t have an unscented version of this deodorant. Also the fact that it uses alcohol may be too drying for some skin types. But in the meantime, I’ve found my new natural deodorant!
