I love this new initiative started by Stephanie at She’s So Eco called Bloggers love bloggers. See her original post here. Basically it’s “an initiative to choose giving love over being mean.” In a world where meanness is the everyday norm we could all use a bit more love in our lives, I think.
Here are the rules/suggestions for this initiative from Stephanie’s blog:
“Bloggers Love bloggers. Every week, on any day they wish, I challenge bloggers to post a photo on Instagram or on their blogs. The photo will be the most beautiful or amazing photo of not you, not your best friend, but a blogger you love and respect. And praise her for her engaging writing, amazing makeup skills, great style, whatever it is that draws you to her. What if we embraced and praised others for their inner and outer beauty? Then maybe it would be easier for us to see the true beauty in ourselves. So tell the world what you love about a fellow blogger that you think is awesome, and tell them why. Let’s start a movement! Don’t just post the photo. include a write-up. Let people know why you’re doing this, why you love her (or him, let’s be fair!), and why we need to be nicer to each other. Then hashtag it. #bloggerslovebloggers #blb
Share this with your friends and fellow bloggers. Let’s see this thing thrive!”
For my first Bloggers love bloggers post I’m going to choose:
Dawn Michelle of Minimalist Beauty
Dawn Michelle is a professional dancer, model, jewelry maker & blogger. Learn more details on her About page. I can’t remember how I stumbled onto her blog. I think it was twitter. Anyway, ever since I read her blog that first time, I’ve been hooked. I’ve only interacted with Dawn Michelle through her blog since she lives in Los Angeles. But she has always replied to every comment I’ve written on her blog with grace, honesty & insight. Her blog inspires me & reminds me to do more with less. I’m amazed at how she was able to create capsule wardrobes for different seasons. Her DIY recipes are also very informative & useful. I’ve borrowed things from her blog here & there that suit me. When she writes about eco issues (besides product reviews) she is eloquent & concise. She has a way of getting to the heart of a matter that I really enjoy reading. She’s beautiful inside & out.
