Hello dear blog readers, I decided to start a new series which I’m going to call Free Thought Fridays. Basically I’m going to post about what’s going on in my brain. Some days it will be eco related and other days it might just be a quote or poem. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it! Would love to hear your thoughts, yay or nay.
Not long ago, I read this article on the Daily Mail about water intake and its effects on skin. It seems plausible to me that someone who’s dehydrated could see dramatic results such as Sarah Smith has. Smith doesn’t tell us too much about how she eats or lives her life. The only details we get are that she drinks about a litre of water in 24hrs and occasionally goes to yoga. So it’s hard to tell what real impact that drinking more water had on her skin.
If you look at the comments on the article, some people argue that the after photo was retouched. While others comment that drinking lots of water has improved their skin, among other benefits. Keep in mind that the body of an average human adult is made up of 53% water. While “the brain and heart are composed of 73% water”. So it makes sense to me that we would benefit from staying hydrated.
Btw, Please be careful about drinking too much water too suddenly. There is such a thing as having too much water. It’s called hyponatremia or water intoxication. Read this article from the Scientific American about hyponatremia.
What do you think? Would you say the Daily Mail article is bogus or real?
