Vibe Veda is a Holistic Healing Practitioner, which came naturally for her from a young age. She had always been told that she had healing hands, and a spirit of light to help and guide others. Her mission in life is to “Be the Change” and to help others Awaken to their Divine Self while living an Abundant and Balanced Life.

Vibe was born into a very challenging scenario of a multi-racial family during a time and in a place that was not accepting, to say the very least. Her father was a Vietnam Veteran and abusive, so she experienced life in foster care and was on her own by age 11. Vibe dealt with many trials and tribulations over the years including rape, abuse, drugs, alcohol, homelessness, and the list goes on. But like the Phoenix that she has tattooed on her chest, she rose from the ashes and graduated high school early, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in less than four years.

She went on to make music, create artwork, do some traveling and touring. Life still met her with challenges, but nothing that she couldn’t overcome. When her love and best friend was brutally murdered, she turned to spiritual healing to mend her broken heart and that is how she was introduced to Reiki. Self-healing is essential when dealing with all of the chaos that can arrive at your doorstep, whether it be physical or emotional.

Vibe offers healing and guidance via private Healing Sessions, her VIBEvolution Facebook group of over 1300 members, and her YouTube series “Journey to the Light.” She is also currently working on a few books, while infusing Reiki into the music and artwork.

Her passion became her career in 2010 when she was attuned to Reiki and opened her private practices in NC, MD and NY. In September of 2013, Vibe brought her healing gifts to ABC/ Deepak Chopra’s Homebase in Manhattan to serve as Apothecary Specialist where she gained invaluable knowledge in the green beauty industry.

Vibe is currently the Owner/CEO of VIBEvolution & Vibe’s Beauty.

How did your journey with green beauty first start?

Beauty has always been something that I admired. Even as a child, I was enamored by beauty… the beauty of faces, the beauty of smiles, the beauty of flowers and nature! I always loved aesthetics, keeping everything clean and organized, while still maintaining a harmonic balance with nature. I grew up in rural parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania. My family lived in a shack that my father built himself. We had no running water, or many of the amenities that most people take for granted. We would gather water from the spring, and we had a small wood stove that we would cook our meals on and heat our home with. It was a simple life, and I believe that it caused me to be very grounded and in tune with the earth.

It saddens me that we are destroying this amazing planet at such a rapid pace! So, my main objective in this life is to Be The Change! I started practicing Reiki about five years ago, after dealing with many tragedies in life, and also suffering from some health issues. I realised that the food I was eating was poison, so I transitioned to a mainly vegan pallet and found a Reiki Master while living in North Carolina. Then, about a year ago I was offered the opportunity to put my knowledge of holistic wellness and organic lifestyle to task by expanding the Apothecary at ABC Home/Deepak Chopra’s Homebase in Manhattan, NY.

I forged phenomenal relationships with green beauty brands, that had environmental stewardship at the core of their mission. This inspired me to launch Vibe’s Beauty, which is a platform for indie, green, niche beauty and lifestyle brands! I have ten personal care lines available for purchase in my online boutique, as well as handcrafted jewelry, unique home furnishings and divine essences. Vibe’s Beauty also serves as an Eco Brand Management and Consulting firm that assists brand owners with opening retail accounts, on-site support, trainings, etc.

Has Reiki impacted your green beauty journey at all and how?

I give myself Reiki every single day! I don’t even know what I would do without it… Balance is essential in life, and since I know this, I do my best to remain balanced in mind, body and spirit. I love to look beautiful, but I also love to feel beautiful inside! By using products that are clean and safe, I know that I am doing what is best for my body!

Reiki is infused in everything I do, for instance if I am trying a product out on a client, and massaging a moisturizer onto their hand, they are receiving Reiki. This provides an overall amazing sensation and warm experience that is uplifting and invigorating!

Did you plan on becoming an entrepreneur, or just fell into it?

I always knew that I would be an entrepreneur! From the time I was five years old I had my own savings from little odd jobs that I would do. By seven years old I was creating folders with art drawn on them and selling them to my classmates for a quarter. I also had my own candy stand in my mother’s consignment shop. By nine years old, I created a community group called “Clean Up The Streets”, where we would collect donations from neighbors, and go around picking up garbage and maintaining our area.

Over the years I have delved into many different entrepreneurial endeavors. I had my own entertainment company, where I produced music, videos, photography press packets, etc. I do some modeling here and there and I recently did the Spring ad campaign for ABC Home, so look out for that! I have designed websites, and done other graphic design assignments. I really enjoyed freelance, and appreciate the knowledge, skills and abilities that it has provided me with!

How did you come up with the idea of creating Vibe’s Apothecary?

When I was in charge of the Apothecary at ABC Home we began referring to it as “Vibe’s Apothecary”, which I always intended to take with me when I branched out on my own. Now the Apothecary lives on the Vibe’s Beauty website, and is filled with amazing natural and organic brands. The reason it is only one element of Vibe’s Beauty is because we are all about Eco Luxury Lifestyle, which encompasses everything from personal care, to adornments and home decor!

What one ingredient or product would you never, ever use and why?

Fluoride. I know that it is mainly found in things like toothpaste, but it is so hazardous that I just wanted to highlight that here. I only use non-fluoridated toothpaste, and I think everyone else should do the same. Not only is it the active ingredient in rat poisoning, but it also calcifies the pineal gland, which releases serotonin into our bloodstream.

What are your upcoming plans for Vibe’s Beauty?

I have just added a lovely new member to the Vibe’s Beauty Family, her name is Sequoia Carr and she has her own lovely product line called All Green Everything! She has a plethora of knowledge and passion in this business and we are looking to continue expanding our team and adding the best of the best!

Vibe’s Beauty has also partnered up with Jillian Wright Skincare to bring the 1st Indie Beauty Expo to NYC this August 27th at The Altman Building! We are taking Indie Beauty to a whole new level, and providing a platform for green, eco, niche brands to connect with retailers, the press and the public.

There is so much to anticipate from Vibe’s Beauty… so stay tuned!

My thanks to the lovely Vibe for taking time out of her busy schedule to answer these questions. If you’re interested in reading more about Vibe check out her other websites and follow her on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
