Detoxifying facial masks for every budget level

Hi all, one of the most common complaints I hear about going eco-friendly is that it can be expensive. Not always! But you do have to know what you’re looking for sometimes. That’s where green beauty bloggers like myself come in. We post product reviews so you can get a better idea of what will work for your skin before spending a whole lotta money.

I’m of the mindset where if it works amazing for my skin I’m willing to spend a bit more. But I also pick and choose where I’m willing to spend more. Not all of the products I use are high end. You can do the same easily. Here are the best options I’ve found for detoxifying masks at every budget level. These products work great for my sensitive, acne prone combination skin type.

I love simplicity. Using this clay mask is simple and expedient because it’s a moist mask and you don’t need to mix it with water. It comes out of the tube ready to be used. It’s also quite gentle on my sensitive skin despite being a purifying mask. Green clay is the main purifying ingredient in this mask. But the oat beta glucan also assists in reducing blemishes. It smells just lovely. You can definitely smell the green tea, tea tree and rosemary essential oils. The mask is thin and so it dries out quickly. For a more intensive effect, you can layer it on thick and leave it on for a longer period of time. You can also use this mask as a spot treatment for blemishes. Since I do my at home facials once a week, I like to keep a mask on my face for 30 minutes to an hour after it’s dried. I just wish there was a larger size of this mask available so I could cut down on packaging waste.

Pure + Simple, Calming Cucumber Mask

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Cassia, Cassia Angustifolia (India Senna) Seed Polysaccharide, Sclerotium Gum Powder, Vegetable Collagen, Morringa Pteygosperma (Moringa) Seed Extract, Leuconostoc (Radish) Root Ferment Filtrate, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Extract, Copper PCA, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Distillate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) Extract.

This mask is a super star for rehydrating my skin. I use this mask most often in the winter time to combat the dry winter air and indoor heating. But it’s also great to use in the summer time if you’ve been sunburned. Cucumber and rice are calming and cooling, while sea algae and senna seed extract help to hydrate and plump the skin. In texture the mask is thin, clear, and gel-like. It washes off cleanly and my skin feels smooth and moisturized afterwards. It’s great for sensitive skin as well. I’ve used it at times when I’ve had an allergic reaction to something and need immediate relief.
